Robot Club is the creative laboratory and commercial studio founded and directed by photographer and creative director César Balcázar. Based in New York City, it functions as a hub where Balcázar brings together a network of multidisciplinary artists and collaborators to execute projects under his vision and direction. Through Robot Club, he leads creative direction, art direction, photography, and production for campaigns and editorials with global brands and media outlets. The studio has partnered with international agencies and production houses to deliver high-end creative content that combines artistic depth with global relevance.
César Balcázar, born in 1987 in Colombia, is a portrait photographer and fashion creative director with over fifteen years of experience. His work has been published in countries such as the United States, England, Spain, Russia, Serbia, Croatia, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and Colombia. He has showcased his photography at international events like the 2023 Xposure Festival in Sharjah, UAE, and was nominated for the 2023 Premios Gardel in Argentina for his work on Nicki Nicole’s Alma album cover.
One of the highlights of his career has been collaborating with Esquire Magazine, where he captured portraits of renowned figures including John Travolta, Adrien Brody, Daniel Radcliffe, and Joaquín Sabina. He has also photographed other prominent artists and cultural icons for various publications, such as J Balvin, Karol G, Juanes, Tainy, Nathy Peluso, Marina Abramović, Olivia Palermo, Nina Garcia, and many others.
He has also had the privilege of working with some of the world’s leading brands, including Nike, Adidas, Samsonite USA, and L’Oréal, leading creative direction and photography for innovative projects. As Head of Brand and Creative Strategy, he develops marketing and PR strategies for fashion brands, ensuring their identity remains cohesive and captivating.
